Quick Overview 888poker is famous for offering some of the best games on the Internet and represents a pleasant escape from some of its grind-fest competitors. Initially known as Pacific Poker, 888 Poker was one of the first real quality poker sites in the industry and remains that way as the third-largest poker site in the world. The software has also improved so much that it's definitely worth another look if you haven’t visited in awhile. The new software offers over 100 new features and is one of the best you’ll find on the Internet.

The graphics are excellent and the lobby offers some of the best search functions for both beginners or more experienced players. Aside from the innovative tech, 888Poker is also known for running a large number of tournaments with good structures and for running a ton of freerolls for players looking to build their bankrolls from scratch. This isn’t a site for hardcore grinders which is a major asset. While the traffic is small there are some very soft spots (read: easy, winnable games) to be had. It’s definitely not a bunch of nits and bots trying to grind out marginal profits. This is where the fish come to swim and you’ll find bonafide small-stakes whales dusting off some of their new-found casino cash.

The software is competent and withdrawals are smooth. Lucrative promotions, a nice daily tournament schedule and fixed prize pools are a few more really solid assets for Tiger Gaming. If you've stuck to the more traditional online poker sites in the past, it's well worth trying out something new with Tiger Gaming. Your bankroll will thank you.

Quick Overview PokerStars is the largest poker site in the world and offers an awesome variety of games, from the super high-limits to some of the rarest mixed games. Many of the world’s most famous poker players are PokerStars pros, including Canadian star Daniel Negreanu, Brit Liv Boeree and WSOP Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker. The site is home to players of all skill levels from many countries around the world and offers a massive, diverse player pool.

With slick graphics and outstanding reliability, the PokerStars software is among the best in the world with innovative functions, lightning-fast game play and great multi-table options. It's also fully customizable and very stable.

Tables can also be cascaded and tiled, and all visual and audio options can be turned on and off. An exceptional piece of poker software. It's also the only place to win satellites into PokerStars Championship and PokerStars Festival live tournaments. Click to View Screenshots Bonus Code:.

Quick Overview Ladbrokes is one of Europe's most popular online casinos, sportsbooks and poker sites. The poker room itself is a skin on the iPoker Network - one of the top-traffic poker networks in the world with a great tournament series (iPOPS), low buy-in satellites for live events and slick, easy-to-use software. Game variety, graphics and playability are all very good with action steady throughout the day at most games and limits. Texas Hold'em games are still - and likely always will be - the most popular. Ladbrokes is also one of the largest sportsbetting companies in the world so players in the poker room regularly benefit from some loose gamblers drifting over from the sportsbook. The online casino is also fully stocked with all the best slots, table games and bingo games to keep you entertained if you want to sit out a few orbits and pop over for a quick punt.

Countless satellites for big live events like the WSOP and Aussie Millions also run on the iPoker Network and it always has several large ongoing promotions. Click to View Screenshots. Quick Overview If you live and gamble in the UK you're obviously familiar with the famed Gala Coral Group which runs the Gala, Coral and Ladrokes brands. As far as one-step operators go you can't do better than Coral with a full casino, sportsbook and poker room plus Bingo, horse racing, Lottos, skill games and more. In short if you can't find it on Coral it's probably not possible to bet on it. The strength of a big brand like Coral pays off when it comes to game selection and things like Super Jackpots, which naturally get hyper inflated which so much combined traffic on the network.

Super Jackpots in fact MUST be paid out every day, which is just one more nice incentive to jump into the Coral flow and go. As a famous high-street brand, you also know your money is good and safe and games and payouts are guaranteed to be fast and fair. Click to View Screenshots.

Quick Overview partypoker is one of the leading online poker sites and has been for the better part of the past decade with great player volume in both cash games and tournaments. Partypoker has maintained a number of juicy games over time thanks to a constant influx of beginners and gamblers from the casino looking for action. Partypoker also offers great promotions and very reliable platform, making it a solid all-around poker room.

Partypoker was once the world's largest poker site and, thanks to huge rebuild and expanded live tour introduced over the past few years, is surging back into the ranks of the elite poker rooms online. The site re-entered the USA in 2013 as well starting with New Jersey and is poised to be a leading site again in the US.

The software is highly functional, fast and reliable. In terms of big events it hosts the flagship partypoker Millions both live and online (now with a $20m guarantee!) and offers plenty of guaranteed tournaments and satellites to its expanded and impressive partypoker Live tour.

You might want to look into bet-at-home.com poker. A member of the iPoker Network bet-at-home.com started out as a sportsbook but has since expanded into poker. As such, the site is now known for having an abundance of non-poker players in their games.

IPoker Network is the top 4th ranked network with a lot of players raving about the experience. Sites on the network have access to a full assortment of games including No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha as well as some unusual ones like Five-Card Draw and SOKO. The software itself is somewhat simple and not updated frequently but that has done nothing to deter players from logging on and fishing for soft games. Click to View Screenshots.

Quick Overview Betfair Poker is the flagship poker room of one of Europe's largest sportsbooks. The excellent software is stable and, since the latest updates, offers a lot of great features and improved graphics.

The time clock is short, which makes the games fast, and as the site now offers play at up to 15 simultaneous tables the room is a great choice for multi-tabling. Game variation is fair and features a lineup of most of the standard games on today's poker sites.

One of the Web's fastest growing poker rooms, the games at Betfair are quite loose thanks to a large portion of the players being sportsbook customers. Overall, Betfair Poker boasts solid software and also features a nice demo of the new technology's functionality on its Web site for the unititiated rookie. Real-money player statistics as of November 2016 show 1200 ring-game players and 4000 tournament players at peak hours. Click to View Screenshots.

Quick Overview Full Tilt is one of the most famous poker sites in the business offering huge promotions, super soft games and a world-class suite of casino games to complement its industry-leading poker client. Full Tilt Poker was in serious trouble after the events of Black Friday in 2011 but industry leader and former rival PokerStars took over the site and re-launched it in 2012 with significant fanfare. These days you can still find some profitable spots on Full Tilt Poker as it always seems to offer more gamble than some of its competitors. Click to View Screenshots. How to Pick the Best Online Poker Site Choosing between the best online poker sites is a bit daunting at first - especially for someone new to online poker who might not know just exactly what kind of games they want to play. The best approach we've found after years and years of experience? The 'best' online poker site is the one that's best for you.

Maybe's it's something as simple as the way the software looks or your choice of avatars. Maybe it's because it has the biggest and best tournament schedule with the biggest guarantees.

Whatever your poker situation or experience the purpose of our expert above is simply to give you all of the information you need to make that decision. Ultimately it might be best to choose more than one poker site, of course, and then sign up, deposit and play some hands just to see which one you enjoy more. After you've determined which site you prefer you can then just play most of your action there. If you're from either the US or the UK, you might want to check our country-specific Best Poker Sites toplists:. Not All Poker Sites are Created Equal Poker is one of the rare games where you don’t necessarily want to be playing against the best players all the time. Most people, in fact, would rather sit at a table with marginal players that like to gamble.

If you find the right tables and just the right wildcards at the tables you could rake in some serious cash. For some, that's an important factor to consider when picking an online poker site to play. For others, they could care less.

They just want to punt around at the small stakes and relax after a stressful work day. Whatever your situation, there's an ideal poker site out there for you. And if you stick to one of the biggest poker sites, say PokerStars or 888poker or partypoker, you'll more than likely find some cash games or tournaments that appeal to you. Not every site has thousands of players online during every hour of the day, though, and there are some distinct advantages to playing on a smaller poker site. Some of the sites have notoriously bad players and it’s worth putting up with fewer players to be surrounded mostly by terrible ones. Smaller poker sites also tend to do more aggressive marketing and will either give you a better bonus or lucrative rewards as you play more hands. It’s worth remembering that certain sites are known for particular games.

For instance Poker Stars is widely regarded as the best online poker tournament site in the world, but there are arguably better cash-game sites. If you manage to find a poker site with extremely bad players you’ll probably want to stick around for awhile. And probably keep it a secret all for yourself. This is something we consider when reviewing online poker sites.

How Does an Online Poker Bonus Work? The best poker sites love bringing new players to their tables. In fact player traffic is pretty much the lifeblood of online poker and every online poker site will spend a lot of money to get players in the games. Every online poker site will give you some sort of reward, or ',' for opening an account and making a deposit. The most common sign-up bonus is a deposit match offer. That means if you deposit $50 and the site has a 100% match bonus you’ll receive $50 in free money for play. That money comes with one caveat: you have to unlock it by playing a set number of hands.

It's usually a fairly reasonable amount and with a decent amount of play you'll be able to clear the whole thing. Poker sign-up offers can vary a great deal, though, so make sure you pick the one that suits you best.

For instance, some rooms will offer a big sign-up bonus that takes a lot of time to unlock. Some poker sites will give you a small but immediate bonus.

Others will give you various benefits including tickets into tournaments and for cash. If you don’t plan on putting in a huge amount of volume playing, we’d recommend going for a smaller, easier-to-unlock bonus. We also suggest comparing a few of the best poker sites before deciding on the bonus for you. What is the Best Online Poker Software?

Poker software has improved immensely over the last few years so there’s really no reason to play on a slow, boring or downright glitchy site. Even the lesser-known online poker sites have fantastic software now. But it’s still important you feel confident using the game client - especially considering you’re going to be logging likely thousands of online poker hands on the site. The various features on each poker site vary a bit so make sure you do a bit of research before plunking down cold-hard cash. Multi-table functionality, anonymous tables, four-color decks and auto re-fill at the tables are a few of the features that poker players have been known to covet. The best poker software is lightning fast, easy to use and streamlined.

It should also offer a variety of features for every kind of poker player including a few exclusive modes that you won’t find anywhere else. Most poker sites also have play-money versions, so it might be worth your while to download the software and play around a bit before you put money into your online account. How Do I Know if a Poker Site is Safe? You absolutely need to make sure you’re playing on a safe site before you put your hard-earned cash on the line.

Fortunately, the best online poker sites are highly monitored and have to go through countless audits by gaming organizations these days. Every aspect of the poker site is analyzed including its random number generator and encryption process. Every and listed by PokerListings has received certification from an authorized online gaming regulatory body. These days online poker sites must be completely transparent and your money is always segregated and never used for operational expenses.

At any point you can withdraw your cash and receive it promptly. No matter how appealing a 'rogue' online poker site appears to be, it’s never worth risking your cash. Put your money on a site that ranks well on review sites and you’ll play better knowing your account is safe.

Online wallets, payment processors, debit cards and even crypto-currency like Bitcoin in some cases are common deposit options. In the United States it's a little different. What are the Major Differences Between US and European Poker Sites? With current legislation in the United States just 3 states (New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware) currently have online poker with a fourth (Pennsylvania) likely soon to join. You must either be a resident of that state or a visitor within the state borders to play on the US sites. If you're a poker traveler and have a chance to play on both types of sites, either within the US or across the various poker platforms in Europe, here are a few of the differences you might find.

America = Standard, Euro = Post-Flop The play between the two is very different. The America-friendly sites involve more of a preflop game and more of a standard game. By this I mean that the players are fundamentally sound and play more the way one is taught on training sites. The Euro sites have a lot more calling and post-flop play.

Players here will call much more pre-flop instead of raising or folding and they love to play past the flop. They play less fundamentally sound and are a bit more difficult to put on hand ranges. It is also more difficult to figure out what level they are thinking on. Euro Sites Have Good Volume PokerStars has the largest player pool and the largest selection of tournaments and cash games running around the clock. They have a wide selection for different stakes and also have good selection for non-NLHE games, such as Omaha and limit hold’em.

The European sites often have good volume for the most popular limits of NLHE, such as $1-2, especially at peak hours. The farther you are from peak times the less volume there will be, especially at higher stakes. Games other than NLHE are almost guaranteed to have little or no volume. Finally, at the smaller sites with small player pools, most of your opponents are likely to be the site’s regulars. Euro sites equal Euro players.

PokerStars Software Still Best Both PokerStars and Full Tilt’s software are much more user friendly then that of the European sites; navigation is easier and it is overall easier on the eyes. Some European sites have some awful software that’s just not user-friendly. This is not merely an aesthetic point: bad software can cause you to tilt, misclick, misread the board, pass over the best games, or time out.

The customer support is also typically better on PokerStars and the larger European sites are more reliable for support. Size also matters for site stability. Great Poker Bonuses on Euro Sites The flat rate bonus deals offered on Euro sites are definitely very attractive.

There are often deposit bonuses, reload bonuses, points for cash, etc. The America-friendly sites offer lower flat-rate deals but offer good freerolls and chances to use your frequent player points optimally. The online poker shops have a wide selection and are very affordable even for a lower-volume player.

Jouni 2016-12-12 18:02:48 I have been playing for a year in pokerstars, total 1500 tournaments. My worldwide rating was 3000/ out of 1,2 million after 3 months. In that point i started playing lot of spin@go´s when the bad beat´s started.

I have to tell you that i lost 72% of all AA and KK to lower pocket pairs or runner runner flushes or straight´s. And i am talkin only preflop all-in hands, I made a reclamation to pokerstars, that math is wrong, whats up with these constant odd´s beat!?

After that, i couldnt win or didnt get to final table in tournament´s because of running really bad. I am telling with no hate, that pokerstars can and do determine, who win´s and how much, or who lose´s and how much.

Nowadays i only play live poker, and this year winning´s 68 000. Dont go to Pokerstars, its a biggest scam in online poker.

Ketchup143 2016-06-17 21:52:25 u might be playing too tight. If u wait too long to get the money in, players are going to call with worse hands b/c u have no fold equity. Furthermore, there may be plenty of spots where they will fold if u make a big bet/raise and ur not taking advantage, so u miss a lot of easy pots. Third, u might want to use a shove/fold equity chart to help u in the later stages.

Fourth, u might be calling when u should raise so the pots u win aren't as big as they could be. I assume u play a tight/aggressive style (TAG), so u naturally are winning less pots but those pots are big. I would suggest considering trying to play more hands (a loose-aggressive or LAG style) by small-balling and selecting hands that play well postflop and hands that either hit big or completely miss. Fifth, u may be playing an abc style, which can give better opponents an advantage figuring out what u have based on the board cards and its texture.

U may want to try to mix in a few unorthodox plays like making a big bet when out of position (donk betting) or betting more than pot on the river. Many poker instructors advise players to keep their hand ranges balanced, which u might not be doing. I tend to downplay that advice a little bit, as i prefer to switch up my play constantly, but will keep as consistent with that change until a given time later in the tournament when i think a change will win be bigger pots, if that makes sense. I must tell u though that i play a lot of heads up sngs, so this kind of play works better against just one opponent, or at least 3- or 4-handed.

Finally, it really depends on the format and buyin of the tournaments u play, as certain games attract different players. The best overall advice i could give u is to play to the level of ur opponents. It's so easy to out-think everyone in a weak game. If ur the kind of player that likes to use ur depth of knowledge, i would suggest playing bigger buyin tournaments, whereas abc styles work best for small buyins.
